Curious to know
Ubriaco cheese has its roots in the country tradition of the Veneto region, and owes its name to the fact that the local cheese makers used the marc to wet and seal the crust of cheese, at the same time giving the cheese a unique flavor. A different talk traces instead the Ubriaco cheese to First World War, when it is said that the farmers in the area tried to defend themselves from the ravages of the soldiers hiding the cheese by immersing it in grape must. This ingenious subterfuge proved to improve the shelf life of the product and giving it a unique taste
